Oh God, my God hear my cry!

by BG O’Neal

“Lord, why do you stay so far away? Why do you hide from people in times of trouble? The wicked are proud and make evil plans to hurt the poor, who are caught in their traps and made to suffer. Those greedy people brag about the things they want to get. They curse the Lord and show that they hate him.

The wicked are too proud to ask God for help. He does not fit into their plans. They succeed in everything they do. They don’t understand how you can judge them. They make fun of all their enemies. They say to themselves, “Nothing bad will ever happen to us. We will have our fun and never be punished.”

They are always cursing, lying, and planning evil things to do. They hide just outside the villages, waiting to kill innocent people, always looking for any helpless person they can hurt. They are like lions hiding in the bushes to catch weak and helpless animals. They lay their traps for the poor, who are caught in their nets.

Punish them for the evil they have done, and stop them from doing any more. Lord, you are King forever and ever, so I know you will remove the wicked nations from your land. Lord, you have heard what the poor want. Listen to their prayers, and do what they ask. Protect the orphans and those who have been hurt.

Again and again they hurt people who are already weak and suffering. They say to themselves, “God has forgotten about us. He is not watching. He will never see what we are doing.” Lord, get up and do something. Punish those who are wicked, God. Don’t forget those who are poor and helpless.

The wicked turn against God because they think he will not punish them. But, Lord, you do see the pain and suffering they cause. You see it, so punish them. Those who were left helpless put their trust in you. After all, you are the one who cares for orphans. Break the arms of those who are wicked and evil.

Don’t let powerful people drive us from our land!” Psalms 10:1-18 Easy Read Version – ERV.

Thank you Lord, for all you’ve done!

by BG O’Neal

“I will give thanks to Yahweh with all my heart; I will recount all Your wondrous deeds. I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. ¶When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish before You. For You have maintained my justice and my cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously.

Today, I want to give you thanks oh God for all your goodness! For all you have done! You have blessed my life in so many wonderful ways! I am like one resurrected from the dead. In all my pains and all my sickness and sorrow – you raise me up! Lord, I can’t praise you enough!

Most High God, El Elyon, you sit on the throne judging righteously. You are a just God who has our best interests at heart. How magnificent you are Yahweh. You gave us Yeshua your son for our salvation! How can we ever praise you enough! We can’t!

Yahweh also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of distress; Arise, O Yahweh, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before You. Put them in fear, O Yahweh; Let the nations know that they are but men. Selah.” Psalms 9:1-4, 9, 19-20 Legacy Standard Bible – LSB.

Glorious King of the Universe, YAH!

by BG O’Neal

When I behold the heavens, sun, moon and stars I know you are glorious! What a superb woven tapestry you have painted. You are the greatest artist! We are wowed by your marvelous creation, things like the Aurora Borealis, the grand canyons and gorgeous rocks carved out. Such beauty and grandeur! How marvelous the mountains, the oceans, the seas. Waterfalls, plants and trees!

You are awesome in all your works! I can’t fathom your greatness! You reign supreme oh YAH! Yet, you created mere human beings like us a lil lower than angels. And angels minister to us!!! Why would you give fallen man the time of day? You are a loving Father that cares about all his creation, even the animals!

Why are you mindful of us! And even think about us! I may never know! But, I can’t stop thinking about you in all your glory! Glorious God, our King of the Universe!

“When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, And hast crowned him with glory and honour.

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, Yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, And whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth!” Psalm 8:3-9 KJV.

With all my heart I worship you Lord!

by BG O’Neal

Each new day we experience the beautiful world you have created! It’s a glorious life we are enjoying daily. No wonder I long to praise you with the dawn of a new day! Your splendor is not just found in natural beauty. It is revealed through us when we bring peace and joy to others. Yes, we can audibly praise the Lord with our lips every day we live.

How much better it is that our daily conduct shows Christ? We should live our lives in a godly manner! The world then sees your glory revealed even if we don’t speak. Your eminence has the preeminence in our lives! We praise you from our hearts as dear children. Our joyous songs and childlike faith puts the enemy at bay.

Even those who don’t seem to understand our praise know we have been in your presence. They see the faith of God arise in us as we worship you in simplicity! We are your dear little children and we love you dearly. It shows in our daily life! We just can’t stop praising your name! We lift you up Lord Jesus in word and deed! Indeed!!!

“Yahweh, our Sovereign God, your glory streams from the heavens above, filling the earth with the majesty of your name! People everywhere see your splendor. You have built a stronghold by the songs of children. Strength rises up with the chorus of infants. This kind of praise has power to shut Satan’s mouth. Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you.” Psalms 8:1-2 TPT.

There is a spiritual warfare at all times!

by BG O’Neal

In Psalm 7, David proclaims his own innocence. He asked God to protect him from those (such as Cush) who was unjustly opposed to him! He asked God to defeat the plans of the enemy against him. How many times have we felt the enemy encompass us about? We are not to operate in fear.

The love of God wraps its arms around us! We have a great promise that one day we will see God. It doesn’t mean we won’t face trials and opposition! However, we have the promise of victory and we shall see God! Maybe this will change our perspective somewhat.

The Bible and history! This is not the Cush first mentioned in the Torah! Psalm 7 is the only Biblical mention of this “later” Cush, who was from the tribe of Benjamin. There is ‘speculation’ that he was a follower of Saul in the long conflict of Saul and his descendants with David (1 Samuel 18 – 2 Samuel 4), since Saul was also a Benjamite (1 Samuel 9:1-2). Cush had thus made David his enemy,

and had possibly also unjustly accused David of wrongdoing in connection with taking Saul’s place as king (although it was God Himself who told Samuel to anoint David as king in Saul’s place (1 Samuel 16:1-13) because of Saul’s disobedience to God’s commands (1 Samuel 15)).

So what is a shiggaion? *Shiggaion of David, which he sang unto the LORD, concerning the words of Cush the Benjamite.]] O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me: -Psalms 7:1 KJV. A shiggaion can range from a funeral dirge to a fast paced rhythmic song! I tend to think this psalm of song was most likely a dirge, not a joyful tune!

How many times have we cried out to God in despair? We may not sing it as David did but we certainly ring it out to the heavens! We want our enemy destroyed thus no fight ensues! Mind you, not flesh and blood but enemies in the spiritual realm. But, we will never become strong until we face the opposition! It is like the simile of the stars shining in our sight at daylight. If it was not for the dark, how would we see the stars? In the same manner we must go through a fight to have victory. If there is no warfare there is no need for victory!

“Yahweh, my God, I turn to hide my soul in you. Save me from all those who pursue and persecute me. There is none to deliver me but you! Don’t let my foes fall upon me like fierce lions with teeth bared. Can’t you see how they want to rip my soul to shreds?

Once and for all, bring to an end the evil tactics of the wicked! Establish the cause of the righteous, for you are the righteous God, the soul searcher, who tests every heart to examine the thoughts and motives. God, your wraparound presence is my shield. You bring victory to all who are pure in heart.”Psalms 7:1-2, 9-10 TPT.

““Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8 ESV.
