Have you ever wondered why you do the things you do? Be honest! I know that I have. I sometimes feel like Paul that after doing the work of God that I would be cast away! But, I think it is probably healthy to consider all things pertaining to faithful ministry. After all, we are to examine ourselves to see whether we are walking in the faith or not.
Hopefully the following scriptures will encourage each one of us. They are probably nothing you have not heard already. I hope they will refresh each one of us. Followers of Christ we are!!!
What is it then that causes us to desire to continue working for the Lord? We pray his kingdom come, his will be done!
“For it is Christ’s love that fuels our passion and holds us tightly, because we are convinced that he has given his life for all of us. This means all died with him.” 2 Corinthians 5:14 TPT.
Why do we keep on keeping on pressing forward? Is it because we desire to please God with our lives? We have hope of a better life after doing the will of God! A better place than this world offers!
“Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men, because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 BSB.
And just how do we accomplish this goal? It is the power of the Lord working in and through us! So, be encouraged today!
“Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.” Ephesians 6:13-18 BSB.
We definitely need to pray in the Spirit for all saints! Pray for our families! Our friends! Our world! Salvation is here! May those who need it today receive Jesus as Lord and Savior! Evangelist Oliver B Greene used to say in his close of prayer, “God save that one that is nearest hell.” Maybe we should pray that also.
The Bible, the story of God, it’s all about redemption and salvation! Amen!
