Or is it not an Act?
Stop acting like a brute!!!
“Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: But he that hateth reproof is brutish.” Proverbs 12:1 KJV
Now from the ESV which strives for literal translation.
“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.” Proverbs 12:1 ESV
So I had to look it up in the Strong’s since it definitely got my attention. Here it is:
Brutish: Original: בּער Strong’s Number: H1198 See all occurrences
Transliteration: Ba`ar Phonetic: bah’-ar
Definition: 1) brutishness, stupidity, brutish (person)
Origin: from H1197 Part of speech: Noun Masculine
Strong’s: From H1197; properly food (as consumed); that is (be extension) of cattle brutishness; (concretely) stupid: – brutish (person) foolish.
So, I do gather something from the latter portion of the definition in Strong’s 1198. It stems from 1197 and it relates being brutish to food; and refers to a cow. It also implies concretely a foolish or stupid person!
The definition of 1197 implies it as being consumed by something to the point of being barbarous. (I have heard it said of certain folk that they are ate up with stupidity). The result is people’s hearts are dull (against God and fellow human beings) making them unreceptive (intolerable; especially, to the Christian views of the Bible). Just for the record, this is from the Bible and referenced from Strong’s Concordance. I am just being a messenger, not the author of the scripture that I have used. But, I do have a major question:
Does this sound like our world today? Better pray! That’s the reverse of being foolish! It is the wise thing to do!
Analytical: If you feed a person stupid ideas, it will produce stupid actions! They will become foolish in thought and action. Input! Output!
Remember the Sunday school song? Be careful little mouth what you speak! Be careful little hands what you touch! Be careful little feet where you go! And last, but not least: Be careful little ears what you hear!
We live in an age of so called spirituality. There are many voices in the land. Several of those voices are not godly but stem from carnal minds of evil and wicked people. It is of utmost importance for born again Christians to exercise discernment! In other words > Be careful little ears what you hear!
